Preschool Preschool programs give all children the educational boost they need to start school with confidence. Serving children from ages 3 to 5, the Inclusion preschool brings students from regular education programs together with students from special education programs in an lively setting that focuses on learning readiness and preparation for future educational success. Both in Teton and Sublette counties, students enrolled in the pre-school get to participate in regular learning activities as well as special therapy or other needed attention. Recognizing that children with disabilities are sometimes segregated from their peers, here children with and without developmental disabilities receive the same educational opportunities, together in the same classroom without regard to ability or income. Each classroom has a lead teacher and a co-teacher, an inclusion specialist who assists with the special needs children that share the classroom with their peers. The active on-sight involvement of therapists helps children with developmental challenges keep pace with their classmates and enjoy the same benefits and rewards that academic achievement provides young, curious minds. Using the Reggio Emilia curriculum, students and teachers form a partnership in learning that is highly successful. Reggio Emilia is considered one of the most effective pre-school education programs ever created. With it's origins in Reggio Emilia, Italy, the program is based on a concept that allows children to create their own curriculum with their teachers as guides and motivators, Children's Learning Center was the first agency to bring this program to the children of Wyoming and is the leader in the state on coordinating with other preschools. The preschool is looking to include the dual language immersion program that is standard in Head Start in the near future. This will mean that children will taught by native speakers of English and Spanish to increase language skills for all the preschool students. Parents of preschool students can actively take part in policymaking and other decisions for their child's program. Parents also have the opportunity to participate in developing curriculum and are given opportunities to take parenting classes, other vocational classes and to truly understand their childrens educational and developmental needs. The Preschool program is certified by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
